The 89th United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It convened in Washington, D.C., on July 15, 2023, and concluded on October 18, 2023.
The first session lasted from the election of the new Congress on July 15, 2023, until the House special election on September 9, 2023. The second session started on September 22, 2023 and ended following the swearing in of the 90th Congress on October 18, 2023.
Since political parties have been banned by the United States Clan Management, no party controlled either the Senate nor the House of Representatives, with all members of Congress being independent politicians.
