Winning Campaign

The Fall 2024 United States presidential election is an upcoming presidential election in NUSA, being held from November 8, 2024 to November 10, 2024. Incumbent President of the United States teasoups is seeking a second, consecutive term to office, previously becoming the narrow victor in the 2024 Summer Election. U.S. Senator ApolloKorman, who had initially sought the presidency in the 2024 Spring Election, emerged as the frontrunner against the president, who has lean or likely led every poll throughout election season.

In a stunning upset victory in the Forward Party primaries, citizen TradeNato defeated ApolloKorman by just three votes. Korman did not stop there and will continue to run in the election as independent, and remains the strongest candidate on the stage. However, Nato could potentially serve as a spoiler vote to uninformed Forward Party candidates who vote along party lines.

At 6:01 PM PST on November 9, just six hours after polling locations opened, Forward Party nominee TradeNato withdrew from the race and endorsed ApolloKorman.

At 2:18 PM PST on November 10, teasoups was officially announced the winner of the election, after previously being projected to win by BNC News and FTN. She is the first President in 8 years to win re-election as an incumbent. There were a total of 308 voters, with less than 3% of votes going to Independent candidates not listed.

Background

Campaign issues

Separation of powers

Multiple judges have come out to denounce the overstepping of the teasoups administration into judicial affairs, with Associate Justice AConArtist expressing feelings of disdain regarding accusations of political witchhunts being executed upon him by the administration[1]. Additionally, former District Judge Montagutheking mentioned concerns regarding the administration's threats to "use political influence to affect the outcome of judicial proceedings" as "deeply concerning".[2].

Former legal officers and citizens have expressed discomfort at the idea that teasoups may be "using her supermajority to oust justices"[3][4]. The administration pursued the removal of many long-term sitting justices, and successfully managed to, what some would say, coerce sitting justices stickza and turntable5000 to step down from the Supreme Court after years of service and even attempted to push long-term sitting Chief Justice Tony Giordano out of the Court citing "ties with another Roblox USA."[5]. Even Justice Frosty TheSn0wman, who was nominated by GeorgeGodsent in May, was nearly ousted by administration loyalists.

Department of Justice

The Department of Justice has become a headlining campaign issue after activity within the department plummeted throughout President teasoups' first term. Public defenders and defense attorney counts reached an all time low, with the count of public defenders even hitting zero at one point, and the issue could be blamed on NELA, a tribunal established by the administration to handle employment-related matters, effectively stripping the rights of the District Court to be able to handle employment-related lawsuits[6]. NELA has been criticized by many former legal experts and lawmakers alike as "garbage" and a "mockery."[7][8][9][10]

Activity

Compared to the activity and server population rates during the GeorgeGodsent administration, activity in Washington, D.C. had reached shocking new lows during the teasoups administration. Members of the Forward Party have repeatedly called out teasoups for her failure to maintain stable activity levels throughout a full week in NUSA comparably to that of former President Godsent.[11] Additionally, the Ridgeway War, which had been initiated by President GeorgeGodsent in the final days of his presidency to improve the activity of the United States Military, was ended by teasoups on her first day in office, bringing back the USM to having nothing to do.[12]

Military

Military has become an increasingly critical campaign issue after President teasoups deployed military troops to the Middle East for the sake of "activity" in NUSA's newest United Nations. Some voters think it is staunchly important that U.S. deployment remains for military activity after serious inactivity levels throughout the GeorgeGodsent presidency, while others believe that unnecessary military deployment should be cancelled.

The Coast Guard being considered by the teasoups administration to join the Board of Governors became a surfacing topic of relevance in the days leading up to the election, with commandant TacticalRock101 pushing for its addition due to the branch's activity and rise to relevance.

Results

After being projected to win by two major news sources before a formal declaration at 2:18 PM PST, incumbent President teasoups became the first President in 8 years to win re-election as an incumbent. Candidates below are listed if they received more than 0.1% of the vote.

Forward Party

The Forward Party presidential primary caucus came after the merger with the Plutocratic Party in order to expand and kill inactivity within the Forwards. Due to the Forward Party not currently holding the presidency or Congress, Forwards typically opposed modern-day Soups policies, including the establishment of NELA, the new Constitution of the United States, and her methods of judicial reform.

ApolloKorman, a U.S. senator, emerged as the top contender for the primary and the only one favored to defeat teasoups on Election Day. Korman was predicted to have swept the Forward Party primary caucus, but was defeated in a shocking upset victory, losing by just a mere 3 votes to citizen TradeNato. Korman conceded defeat in the primary, but will continue to run for President as an Independent. He remains with a fair chance to defeat Teasoups, but the margin is tightening closer to election day due to Nato's "spoiler candidacy" garnering support from dedicated Forwards.

Primary candidate Running mate Popular vote Percentage
TradeNato razvanpaul 15[14] 55.6%
ApolloKorman MitsuoMochizuki 12 44.4%

Pioneer Party

Incumbent president teasoups won the Fall 2024 Pioneer Party primary elections, faring off of former Vice President AlexJCabot and citizen boxjeilfish9. Teasoups did not select incumbent Vice President of the United States GrandpaGobies as her running mate, instead selecting White House Chief of Staff Rathuzen.

Debates

November 2 Presidential Debate

The one and only Fall 2024 United States presidential debate was hosted on November 2, between teasoups, TradeNato, and ApolloKorman[16][17]. The debate lasted roughly an hour, with questions pertaining to the Board of Governors, especially with the Coast Guard becoming of relevance to its addition, along with the necessity of the Diplomatic Security Service. Forward candidate TradeNato, who originally had little ground, rose up gently in polling after the debate with his noted sharp speaking and responses[18].
